Diving test Nerves

Diving test Nerves

We all suffer from nerves at some point in our lives whether we are required to do a presentation, stand up in front of a class room full of people, meet a stranger for the test time or take a driving test.

Suffering from nerves and feeling sick or anxious before a driving test  is  perfectly  normal,  it’s  the  fear  of  the  unknown  and  over worrying about failing. We put ourselves under an immense amount of pressure and feel like we don’t want to let our friends, family or instructor down. We forget why we are doing the test and who it means the most to, then beat ourselves up if we fail with our first attempt. As driving instructors we can only offer tips and advice about   how  to  deal  with   nerves  from  our  own  and  others experiences.  Some of those are as follows:

  1. Book the driving test early  in the day so you don’t  have too much time to think about it.
  2. Go to the gym, out for a run or even a brisk walk.
  3. Try some form of meditation, there are plenty of apps available or use Youtube
  4. Use positive affirmations keep telling yourself you can do this or you have got this.
  5. Try using herbal remedies.
  6. Try eating a banana they are full of vitamin B which may help to calm your nerves.
  7. Pretend that this is just another driving lesson
  8. Occasionally imagining that you have already failed helps some people.
