After making excuses not to drive for 20 years, the firm I work for were going to be relocating so I had to look for an instructor and after researching local driving schools picked out Jon as the unlucky one.
My research told me that the older you get, the longer it takes to pass, between 40 and 50 hours for someone my age. I’m happy to say that 35 hours of lessons was about what it took to pass first time and I can’t thank Jon enough for getting me up to speed.
Now my new found freedom means I can be the one ferrying the kids around… so there are downsides to driving! Jokes apart I passed first time with only 3 minor faults and this can only be down to the way Jon prepared me for firstly the test but then for driving in the real world.
Jon’s teaching methods worked perfectly for me. He set out exactly what we were going to go through at the start of each lesson and feedback throughout lessons was always constructive. As much as he helped prepare my driving skills, he also helped my mental preparation.
On the day of the test, it all went a lot quicker and smoother than I could ever imagined, I actually enjoyed it! I can only put this down to Jon’s excellent tutoring.

Thanks Jon a lot for your lessons. You are a great instructor. I didn’t pass my driving test first time, but after our lessons I passed the test at second time. You gave me more confidence and very useful knowledge. I would highly recommend Jon to anyone in this area.

I would recommend Jon Wright to teach anybody to drive, I’m 34 and passed first time, with little driving experience apart from a few lessons at 17 and a couple more at 24, which I couldn’t remember anything, I just couldn’t get into driving, it just didn’t interest me back then, but as I got older, I thought I’d give it one more try, I was so glad I chose Jon Wright.
I was a bit nervous on my first lesson, but Jon made me feel at ease, and tailored my lessons around my work and family commitments, he was so helpful, and encouraged my questions, even ones I thought were silly, I felt comfortable enough to ask Jon.
After a few lessons it felt like he was an old family friend who was teaching me to drive.
Jon is very honest and gives feed back at the end of every lesson, and let’s you know your strong areas and the ones you still need more practice on. He then let’s you know what you will be covering on your next lesson.
If you are unsure or want to practice something as you still don’t feel confident, just ask and Jon will usually try to fit it in to the lesson your on or your next lesson.
He’s a great instructor and I’d always recommend him.

I recently (October 2014) passed my driving test in Macclesfield with the help of Turn Wright – John Wright.
I can honestly say that John was a fantastic Driving Instructor and without his help, patience and knowledge it would have taken me a lot longer to pass my Driving Test.
I passed first time and with only 4 minor points against me. I am now undertaking my Pass Plus with John.
I feel that John gave me the confidence to be a careful and considerate driver and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.

Jon was great, said how many lessons it would take to pass and I passed first time! His bulk bookings offers are a bargain and are by far the best value for money on Macc. Highly recommend
